FAQ
Therapy can treat a wide range of issues such as fears and phobias, anxiety and stress, panic attacks, and insomnia. It can help you to increase confidence, improve relationships and decide what direction you want your life to go. These are only a few of the things it can help with. Have a look at the ‘help for’ page for more information.
During the initial session Andy will find out what you want to change and what your medical history is, to ensure safe practice. He may, with your permission, contact your GP before commencing therapy if it is appropriate. You will discuss what you want to change and what your goals are.
If, at any time, progress seems to stall Andy will work with you to figure out what is going on and different techniques may be used to continue working towards achieving your goal.
The number of sessions is dependant on the clients goals and progress. Progress will be reviewed when appropriate.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and £45 each during the day or £55 in the evening.
Therapy sessions provide an opportunity for clients to talk in depth about issues that they may not understand in a confidential and non-judgemental setting. Often it’s not clear how difficult issues can be resolved or how they might change. Therapy sessions allow possibilities for change to emerge and for clients to feel empowered to tackle difficult issues.
In general Counselling tends to be shorter-term work and tends to deal with specific issues e.g. work related stress and seeks to find appropriate strategies and solutions to improve the situation in question. Psychotherapy is usually longer-term work where deep-seated issues might not be easily expressed or even fully recognised.
